The Apopka Woman’s Club is pleased to offer scholarships to young women graduating high school seniors and adult women who are continuing their education.

High school seniors and adult applicants must have lived in zip codes 32703, 32704, or 32712 for two years. The applications and qualifications for both categories of ladies can be found on the Apopka Woman’s Club website, www.apopkawomansclub.org, under the scholarship tab. Scholarship chairman Christy Faircloth can be contacted at cfaircloth@mindspring.com to answer any questions.

The scholarship money that will be awarded is generated by the proceeds of the Apopka Art and Foliage Festival. The festival is presented in partnership with the City of Apopka and the Apopka Woman’s Club.

This year will mark the 62nd Anniversary that the festival has been in existence. It will be held on April 27th and 28th in Kit Land Nelson Park. All of the proceeds of the festival are given to community organizations. Some of the past recipients have been Shop with A Cop, Loaves and Fishes, Harbor House, Seniors First, and scholarships for qualifying females.

Five $1,500 scholarship awards will include one from the Eileen Langley Scholarship Fund, a memorial established by her family to honor our dedicated and longtime member.

Applications are being accepted now, and will be accepted until Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 5 pm. After the committee completes the scoring process, the applicants will be contacted. Award recipients and their guest will be invited to attend a lovely dinner to be recognized and receive their award certificates during the club’s general meeting on April 16th.

The Apopka Woman’s Club has been bringing together women since 1957, in an organization where they can use their energies and abilities to benefit their community by promoting civic, cultural, educational and charitable activities.  We are a proud member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). The GFWC Apopka Woman's Club is a not-for-profit civic organization.
