As the weekend approaches in Apopka, several community schools are gearing up for a special event that will highlight the importance of unity, collaboration, and community involvement.

This exciting, family-friendly event fosters community engagement and showcases the diverse offerings of the Apopka area. It celebrates students' talents and skills and provides an opportunity for families, educators, and community members to connect and build meaningful relationships. From sports tournaments to cultural performances, the weekend promises to be memorable and filled with fun, excitement, and a sense of belonging.

Sponsored by District 7 School Board Member Melissa Byrd, Wekiva High, Lakeville Elementary, and Piedmont Lakes Middle, this unique opportunity serves to unite with your neighbors and celebrate the vibrant spirit of the community.

“I am really excited that our local schools wanted to share all the exciting things they are doing with the community," said Byrd. "This is going to be a great day for our schools, families, and community!”

The event promises to be an engaging experience and will be packed with school and community resources, continuing education information, and extracurricular opportunities.

Enjoy activities and attractions, including complimentary food and culinary delights from our featured food trucks: Ms. Mel’s Kitchen, Snowie of Central Florida, and Fat Bones BBQ. The Wekiva High Culinary Program will also be grilling hot dogs and giving them to families.

There are interactive games, a delightful petting zoo, face painting, bounce houses, and dynamic DJ music.

The fun starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. at Wekiva High School (2501 Hiawassee Road, Apopka, 32703).
