Updating Breaking News: OPD releases name of slain officer

Updating Breaking News at 11:00 AM:

Master Sergeant Debra Clayton of the Orlando Police Department was shot and killed this morning. Clayton was a 17 year veteran at OPD. She was married on January 1st, 2016. Her maiden name was Debra Thomas. She had two children.

Two more schools were added to the lockdown list. They are Robinswood Middle School, and Pinewood Elementary School. There are 17 schools currently on lockdown, but all students and staff are safe, according to OCPS.

Orlando Police Officer died, 13 schools on lockdown

Updating News: at 10AM a local news station is reporting the Orlando Police Officer who was shot has died. According to the Orlando Police Department 13 Orange County Public Schools are on lockdown - Gateway, Evans, Pine Hills, Meadowbrook, Positive Pathways, Orange Center, Rolling Hills, Lockhart Middle and Elementary Schools, Accel Academy, Esteem, OCVS, Lake Silver, Oak Hill and Rosemont.

OCSO Homicide Detectives are seeking the whereabouts of Markeith Loyd, 39, in the murder of Sade Dixon. Loyd is the ex-boyfriend of Dixon. He is considered armed and dangerous and is being sought by the OCSO Felony Squad. It was also reported that an Orlando Police Officer was shot in pursuit of Loyd at a Walmart Parking lot on Princeton Avenue in Orlando. That officer has been transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

UPDATE:

The homicide victim has been identified as Sade Dixon (B/F DOB 1/23/92)

The victim’s brother is Ronald Steward (B/M 2/09/90). There is no update on his condition.

The OCSO is still actively pursuing leads and looking for the known suspect.

At 9:13 p.m. on December 13th, OCSO deputies responded to an Aggravated Battery call at the listed address on Long Peak Drive. When they arrived, they found the victim (B/F 24 years old) dead from a gunshot wound. The victim was three months pregnant.

The victim’s brother (B/M 26 years old) was transported to ORMC with gunshot wounds. He is in critical condition.

Detectives believe a known suspect came to the residence and was banging on the front door. The victim answered and was mortally wounded by the suspect. Her brother came to her aid and was shot and critically wounded by the suspect.

The siblings’ parents, another brother, along with the victim’s two children ages five and seven were in the home at the time of the shootings. There were all unharmed.

Detectives are actively looking for the suspect and have no other details to provide at this time.
