Apple TV+ has a busy month ahead with the forthcoming release of several TV shows, both new and returning, in April.
Subscribers will be treated to a new detective thriller and a tense period drama, while two big-name comedies are also returning to the streaming platform. Elsewhere, ongoing shows like The New Look and Manhunt are set to finish in April.
Here is everything you need to know about what is coming to Apple TV+ in April 2024.
Colin Farrell leads this noir thriller, about a private detective named John Sugar who is tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel (Sydney Chandler), the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel (James Crowell). By delving deeper into the mystery, though, Sugar will unearth more than he bargained for as the Siegel family secrets come to light.
The series also stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Amy Ryan, and Anna Gunn, amongst others.
Another high-profile project is Franklin, which stars Michael Douglas as Benjamin Franklin — one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The series is set in 1776, and Franklin embarks on a secret mission in France, where the fate of America's independence rests on his shoulders.
Maya Randolph returns as Molly Wells in the second series of Loot, which follows her character a year after she settles her divorce from tech billionaire John Novak (Adam Scott). Now focused on her charity work, Molly is sworn off men and embarking on a new wellness journey, but fate may have something else in store for her.
Another series returning for a second season is The Big Door Prize, which follows the inhabitants of a sleepy town whose lives are changed forever following the arrival of a mysterious machine. Season 2 sees Chris O'Dowd, Gabrielle Dennis, Mary Holland, and Josh Segarra reprise their roles as Dusty, Cas, Nat, and Giorgio, respectively.
