For over a decade, Tom Terry has been the voice of weather in Central Florida.
Terry, the Chief Meteorologist at WFTV Channel 9 and an Apopka resident, is a calming force that talks us down from the proverbial ledge during hurricanes, flooding and all of the extreme forces of nature we experience in this state. He's gotten us through some very bad relationships with some unstable characters named Charley, Frances, Jeanne, and most recently Irma. His calm demeanor in the face of climatic chaos is legendary, and his call to "hunker down" during times of Category 5 trauma are well known throughout the region.
Terry will bring his expertise and knowledge to the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce's Morning Mingle - Breakfast & Learn on Tuesday, May 14th, which is focused on storm preparedness and disaster recovery, knowing that the 2019 hurricane season starts on June 1st.
Each attendee will have an opportunity to network and hear from Terry, plus have a chance to learn more about the various businesses in the Apopka area who specialize in storm preparedness and disaster recovery including Aurora InfoTech LLC, GeoWell, Lake Apopka Natural Gas District, Lewis Roofing, Gentry Insurance Agency Inc. and JDog Junk Removal & Hauling.
Lastly, this delicious breakfast will be hosted by our friend's at Bubbalou's BBQ here in Apopka.
This is going to be a very educational morning and a great opportunity to connect with Chamber members that'll help you and your businesses prepare for the upcoming hurricane season.
