British Swim School is offering a new concept for swimming lessons in Apopka 

The British Swim School of Northwest Orlando has officially opened its doors, offering an exciting new option of swimming lessons for all ages in Apopka. 

British Swim School, the nation’s leading “learn-to-swim” franchise with a stellar 40-year track record, is thrilled to expand its locations with the grand opening on March 25th. The franchise has been successfully teaching infants, children, and adults of all ages skills in water acclimation, water survival, and stroke development. 

Eleven people die of drowning each day across the country. That's a total of 4,000 deaths per year. Studies show that swimming lessons, such as those offered by British Swim School, can reduce the risk of drowning by up to 88% among children alone. The drowning risk extends to adults; in one study, the Red Cross discovered that 54% of Americans can’t swim or don’t have the skills needed to save themselves in a water emergency. 

Valynn and Serge Sala-Diakanda, longtime Apopka residents and passionate advocates for water safety, are the proud owners of the British Swim School of Northwest Orlando. Valynn shares that seeing her own children thrive in the water after taking swimming lessons inspired her and her husband to open the School. 

“We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to feel confident and safe in the water. Seeing my own children embrace the water with confidence has been incredibly rewarding. It solidified our commitment to the British Swim School mission of ensuring every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer,” she said.

British Swim School offers programs for ages 3 months and up, including water acclimation, beginner water survival, and advanced water survival. Beginner, advanced, and pre-swim team stroke development lessons are also available. With its three-part curriculum and team of professional instructors, it offers fun, effective lessons with year-round, anytime enrollment.
