It appears that some may be excited that this new RFP may take a while to be posted. I’m not sure as to why. The AFD needs help years ago. This RFP will be posted sooner than some think. Furthermore, the previous RFP was NOT written in the correct way. It was NOT in the will of the commission, fire staff and not by me. We did not need another consultant. I personally pushed back on the original RFP during the zoom meeting and afterwards with follow up. THAT is why there were no bids.
Positive change is on the way for the AFD. Our men and women deserve to be safeguarded, fully trained and go home at the end of their shift. That is what this is all about. Protecting our firefighters.
