Too many shootings! I am very sorry that this man's life was taken from him. The governor is only going to make things worse, when he signs the new gun laws, that he has planned to get passed very quickly, before he runs for POTUS. God help us all! Anybody, sane or not, can buy a gun and carry it around in public, with no permits, no instruction courses, and no background checks on the person buying the gun. The governor, by law, is suppose to to forfeit his current elected position of governor, before he runs for POTUS, but he has found a way around that law too.....he is going to get his lawmakers to change that law! This governor is very dangerous, and with his not allowing the teaching of black history in schools, and removing library books, is all too telling of what he is! Do the authorities know if this was a random shooting, or a planned targeted hit? May the Apopka resident RIP. I find all these shootings and killing so very sad and depressing.

I want to send condolences to Orange County Mayor Deming's to express my sadness in his father's passing away. I noticed in articles he was 100 years old, and was born in 1922. You were so lucky to have your dad in your life for that long of a time. My own father died at only 52 years old, and he was born the same year as your dad. My dad was born 2/2/22, and tomorrow would be his birthday, if he was still alive. I will celebrate his bd somehow tomorrow, in his memory.

A lot was going on yesterday. I found out from social media about the AHS lockdown, and I live right by the school, but wasn't home at that time. We saw a lot of school aged kids around, and had wondered why they weren't in school, before we left. We knew it wasn't a school holiday. I think the nearby homes of schools should be informed of when something like school lockdowns are going on, and inform us why. Shouldn't have to depend on social media to learn that there are possible gun toting people in the schools, or vicinity of neighboring homes. How about sending out some community alerts to our cell phones, kind of like the amber alerts on our phones, the minute you turn on your phone they come up, and sound an alarm, with the info?

I feel bad just as much as the other person, but It has nothing to do with gun laws or gun control It has to do with the person buying the gun and shooting the person I don't care who owns it who decides they can and cannot own it It's the person taking the responsibility and buying it illegally that kills these people and especially your people

It's not the gun laws that shoot or do not shoot people. It's the people that buy the guns illegally whatever color they are and they shoot other people that's your problem not the governor. it's the people who buy the guns illegally color or not White or not black or not Chinese or gay. no it's the people buying the guns. Not the gun laws. Get a grip on life people.

What do you mean by "especially your people" when responding my posting? My people are the human race, God's people. You post about buying guns, or illegally buying guns, and killing, but how many of those guns weren't even bought, but stolen, in break-ins, and in cars. Apparently the governor is not even concerned about background checking a hard core felon, or a proven mentally ill person prone to violence. He is catering to the criminals, and they love it. DeSantis is a disaster for Florida!
