September Cookies & Milk With a Cop coming this Saturday

Posted

Join the Apopka Police Department for Cookies and Milk with a Cop this Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 11 AM to 12 PM at the North Orange Branch Library.

Bring your kids to meet our local police officers, enjoy a story, arts and crafts, and cookies and milk provided by the McDonald’s in Apopka (LCL McDonald’s). We host this free event on the third Saturday of the month.

Cookies and Milk with a Cop is an initiative started by Officer Andrew Raphael of the Winter Garden Police Department. The goal is to bring kids and Cops together in a fun and non-traditional environment that builds trust and makes friends. The event is on the third Saturday of every month. The event usually lasts 1–2 hours, depending on the stories and crafts.

The APD provides a police officer for reading to the children.

McDonald's provides cookies and milk.

The Apopka Library provides a comfortable setting.

The event is free. The North Orange Branch Library is located at 1211 E Semoran Boulevard in Apopka. Cookies and Milk are provided by Apopka McDonalds on Main Street (LCL – Lopez Restaurants).  The officer will read 2-3 books to the kids and hand out police stickers, pencils, and safety bracelets.  After storytime, the children will be able to participate in arts and crafts provided by the library.

"This is a valuable event for our agency in order to connect better with our citizens," said Officer Jason Wiggins. "The children and parents enjoy the interaction, and it provides a great opportunity for them to ask questions about our profession."

Reservations are NOT necessary.
