"I promise to treat everyone with respect, kindness, and love, regardless of race, religion, or belief. I promise never to discriminate or bully anyone but build them up knowing there is strength in unity. I promise to plant seeds of goodness in my community that will grow and makes the world a better place."

--The iPromise Pledge from Re-Imagine Communities

This week Highland Christian Academy’s VPK students took the pledge.

HCA continues to promote positivity in its classes. This week, we have 15 more pledgers added to the movement. Little Harmony Hinds from HCA said it best, "we are planting our pledges ."

But this is more than just planting gardens. It’s about being positive, helping others, standing up to bullies, treating others with respect, kindness, and love.

Purses for Purpose

Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Plymouth, The Eula B. Douglas Women Mission Society from St. James AME Church in Eustis, and The Women's Ministry of  New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Brandon helped to support the efforts. Together, we collected over 250 new and used purses with toiletry items to help women affected by domestic violence.

This is why we were excited to partner on the Purses for Purpose initiative.

Apopka Area Student Awards

In partnership with the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Apopka, Re-imagine Communities hosts the Apopka Area Student Awards ceremony on May 19th. Each school will highlight a student who has made a difference in their school or community.

We have some phenomenal students in our community. They are creative, innovative, and talented. It's an excellent opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate them. I think it's essential to keep the community engaged with our students.

They are our future, but we are their examples.

The mission of Re-imagine Communities is to advance equity by empowering the underserved and at-risk youth of Central Florida. Through mentoring and coaching, education, life-skills training, job readiness training, and financial literacy, we are committed to reshaping and redefining our communities one idea at a time.
