AdventHealth has delivered its first baby of the new year. We are happy to welcome baby boy Shabinsky Guerrier, the Central Florida hospital system’s first baby of 2023. Mom Kettia Maxi and dad Jean Guerrier from Orlando, Florida, celebrated the new year by welcoming their newborn who weighs 8 pounds, 9.6 ounces and is 21 inches long. Shabinsky was born at 3:04 a.m. at AdventHealth Orlando.

Nationwide who was the first baby born in 2023?

Isabelle Alice Koopman was born to her parents Ashley and Cameron Koopman of Greenfield, Minnesota early Sunday morning. Her recorded time of birth was exactly at midnight on New Year's morning, the hospital reports. Isabelle weighs six pounds, 15 ounces, and measures 20 inches.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the nation’s total fertility rate had reached 1.64 children per woman in 2020, dropping 4% from 2019, a record low for the nation.

While that may seem alarming, America’s 2020 birth rate is in line with trends going back over 40 years. Similar trends have been observed in most of the U.S.‘s peer countries.

Congratulations to baby Shabinsky of Orlando, and to Isabella - the midnight baby who will forever be attached to the New Year's Eve countdown, perfectly aligned with the new year!
