Goodwill hosts free webinars aimed to help job seekers with their search

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida understands how tough looking for a job can be! That's why they're kicking off March with practical and insightful webinars to help you be more effective in your search. Landing the right job for you is possible, especially when you take time to hone your skills. These FREE classes will help you do just that.

While the unemployment rate remains low in Central Florida, there are still many people searching for their next career opportunity, making Goodwill’s job connection services more important than ever to the community. Employment specialists have been working virtually with job seekers to update résumés, practice interviewing and apply for openings online. Upcoming free webinars can be found on Goodwill’s website.

March 3 - Preparing an Professional Résumé

On Thurs., March 3, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida’s virtual job connection team will partner with Indeed to host a free webinar for job seekers. The virtual session will teach participants how to properly format a résumé, as well as the search keywords hiring managers look for.

March 8 - Effective Job Search Techniques

On Tues., March 8, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida’s virtual Job Connection team will host a free webinar for job seekers on effective job search techniques. This virtual course will teach participants how to navigate exploring potential vacancies that fit their skills and interests, including what key words to look for. The session will also focus on how to avoid the most common search mistakes.

March 15 - Explore Career Changes that Align with Experience and Interests

On Tue., March 15, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida’s virtual job connection team will host a free webinar for job seekers who are interested in exploring a new career path. This virtual course will offer tips for finding employment opportunities that align with experience, training, interests and values.

March 16 - How to Seal or Expunge a Criminal Record

On Wed., March 16, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida’s virtual job connection team will partner with Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society, Inc. to host a free webinar on sealing and expungement. This virtual session will walk participants through the process of sealing or expunging a criminal record on their own, including eligibility requirements. Research has shown that relief from the stigma associated with a criminal record leads to improved outcomes when seeking employment.

March 22 - Tips for Preparing for a Successful Interview

On Tues., March 22, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida’s virtual Job Connection team will host a free webinar for job seekers on how to prepare for a successful interview. This virtual course will teach participants how to answer common interview questions and leave a good impression. The session will also focus on how to avoid the most common interview mistakes.
