Fox Valley announces Grand Re-Opening

Apopka's favorite farm returns on September 3rd

Posted

Back in 2017, the Fox family began looking for a piece of land that would provide space for them to live out their dreams of living on their own sustainable farm. Coincidently, here in Apopka, another Fox family (not related) had just listed their property for sale, and they snatched it up, and their dream began...

The Fox family admittedly had no prior experience in land-owning or farming, but they quickly became experts on all things... chickens to planting. From exotic plants like dragon fruit to Moringa trees, through trial and error, they became more and more successful with their crops.

This is where things get interesting…

Having a small farm was always the goal, but a hopyard was not. Hops grown in Florida, though rare, are not entirely impossible, and the Fox family has become successful in five different varieties. They now provide hops for home brewers and local breweries, including our hometown spot, Three Odd Guys Brewing Co.

More than just hops and exotic plants, the Fox family also provides a home to over 200 chickens, three turkeys, and, recently, two very sassy emus. Who would think, on any given day, you can drive up the road here in Apopka and feed emu or take a selfie with a turkey?

Most recently, Fox Valley Farm and Hopyard closed to the public for a few weeks to install a solar panel pavilion, providing full solar power to the farm and more sustainable efforts to this local piece of heaven.
