Then you need to apply to the Apopka Citizens Public Safety Academy.

Annually, the Police and Fire departments of the City of Apopka provide this educational program where adults learn the inner workings of the departments. Participants experience what being a police officer or firefighter is like and will learn all aspects of police and fire services and participate in discussions and exercises.

The classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for eight weeks beginning on February 25, 2016.
This very popular program is limited to only twenty-five individuals. There are minimum qualifications to attend and a thorough background check will be conducted on each applicant.

Applicants must provide a notarized Affidavit of Good Moral Character and a signed the Volunteer Waiver.
The completed application must be returned to the Apopka Police Department, 112 East Sixth Street. The front desk is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The application deadline is Wednesday, February 24th at 5:00 PM
