After his load caught fire an alert driver pulled his garbage truck onto the driveway next to Fire Station #2 on Welch Road this morning about 8:45 AM. The driver dumped the contents of the truck onto the concrete and the Apopka Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire.
The garbage was then removed using the City's Claw Truck and, according to a City spokesperson, taken to a local landfill.
No injuries were reported and the truck reportedly suffered only cosmetic damage.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
