2nd Annual Maternal and Child Health Summit coming to Orange County

Posted

September is National Infant Mortality Awareness month, a time to reflect on what we can do to ensure every baby has a healthy start and celebrates their first birthday and beyond.

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County, with the Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County, is hosting a FREE Maternal and Child Health Summit themed “Welcome to ONE!” The event is open to moms-to-be, moms of infants up to age one year, fathers, and other mom and baby supporters.

Held on September 17th at the Marriott Orlando Downtown, the goal of this event is to improve the health and well-being of moms, babies, and families, through education and empowerment.

The summit’s workshops will cover infant CPR, breastfeeding & nutrition, safe sleep/sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and fatherhood.

Event guests will receive giveaways, breakfast, lunch, health screenings, and complimentary valet parking.  Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about health & community resources that will help them in their journey of parenthood.

Pre-registration for the event is required. Visit Eventbrite.com at: https://healthybabyorange.eventbrite.com or by calling (407) 723-5004.
