2021 NFL Week 1 preview

Posted

By Lucian Constantin

With the 102nd NFL season set to take place imminently, now would be an opportune time to check out the upcoming opening round of fixtures.

Indeed, this season will be slightly different to many other years that have gone by in professional American Football, as teams will now need to compete in 17 matches instead of the traditional 16 after the league voted positively to the expansion.

It will not have just been the league that would have been delighted with the decision, though, as fans all over the world will have been left pleased with the opportunity to watch their team in action on at least one more occasion than normal.

The additional fixture could also provide those who are yet to sign up and use the Unibet sportsbook welcome bonus offer that has been made available to new customers. For instance, the welcome bonus offer that provides players with the opportunity to win up to $500 back on a losing bet when they place a wager of $10 or more can really help beginners to be introduced or help them to begin a potentially successful betting journey.

Potential Games of the Week

The match between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is perhaps one of the best ways the 2021 NFL season can start, with the current Super Bowl champions taking on “America’s Team” at their home stadium; the same venue in which they won the Vince Lombardi Trophy back in February.

In addition, the encounter between the Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints at the Caesars Superdome also has the potential to be a humdinger of a contest and one that is well worth keeping an eye on as part of the double-doubleheaders that have been scheduled for Sunday evening.

A NFL fact heading into 2021 NFL Season

With 272 games scheduled to take place in the 2021 NFL Season due to the addition of a 17th game to each team’s schedule, there was always going to be a number of storylines to look out for that could make this year rather exciting.

For instance, the dates that the matches are going to be played in 2021 and into the early stages of 2022 will be the same dates that matches were played on in the 2010 NFL Season. Could this be a potential omen for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers as they won the Super Bowl that year and are yet to have reclaimed it?

While it will be too early to predict such an outcome as we head into week 1, the Packers could show everyone they mean business if they can get past the Saints in their tough opener.
