I hope Mayor Nelson takes these next 4 years to do good as his campaign was the only one to send out negative mailings. I worry about retribution faced by the firefighters who supported the Mayor's opponent. It took real courage for these brave firefighters to do so, and these are people who run into burning buildings for a living. I've seen firsthand Mayor Nelson's lack of compassion and empathy while at the same time he will smile and shake your hand. It will be interesting to see how long it will take before one of his supporters suggests that his $5 million purchase of Camp Wewa, which he expects to operate at a loss, be renamed Camp Bryan Nelson, as a tribute to him. I hope Mayor Nelson realizes he won by less than 500 votes, so the people of Apopka will be watching.
